Pfau is a gouache painting that was created during a month-long artist residency at the Pulverturm in Feldkirch. With its intense colours and modern aesthetic, the work forms a harmonious contrast to the simple architecture of the tower. The painting depicts a scene inspired by the botanical gardens in Lisbon. The use of sturdy yet flexible watercolour board enabled the work to fit perfectly into the curves of the powder tower during the final presentation, creating a unique visual experience.
